Striking strelitzias, pretty proteas and other local plants and flowers fill a designer Chanel vase. Set against a soft violet palate and a fun print of black, white and yellow, this unique botanical painting has a definite afro-pop feel. A combination of spray paint, acrylics and had drawn detail add interesting layers to this fun botanical artwork./n/nMy intention is to create two large-scale portraits of African characters. A concept that celebrates African tradition and culture through the vibrant use of color, print and design. The portraits will fuse a blend of African style and old traditions with a hint of modern culture, giving life to two modern afro-pop style characters that resonate with current times and the ever-blending growth and development of culture and diversity both locally and internationally. The idea is to have these characters read as African citizens of the world.
